Introduction to the club
After a successful 2009 driving season, for both Manx competitors competing on the Island and on the National Circuit in the UK, we have a new calendar of events planned for 2010. We're hoping to better the quality of events this year and also the quantity of events, catering for new and old members, anyone who wants to make a start in driving is welcome to come along and watch, ask for advice and even have a go, if they wish. We're hoping to have more training days/clinics to enable competitors and learner drivers alike to get a better idea of training and learn more about driving. So if you want to ask for advice, please feel free to contact any of our committee members and they will be more than happy to point you in the right direction. Also if you have any spare time at all on Sundays and enjoy watching carriage driving or would like to contribute towards the club, then we are always in need to stewards and some members in need of grooms, so please feel free to volunteer!!!
With having a board base of members, some who prefer private driving, others prefer FEI (Horse Driving Trial Events), and then others that prefer picnic/leisure drives, as committee members, we sometimes find hard to cater for everyone, but am sure with the calendar of events planned for this year, we will have a few options to cater for everyone's taste – well at least we hope so!
