Baby Stuff

Textured baby cardigan in cream DK.

This hat and socks set is made from the left over yarn from my husband's socks. The yarn is Opal Rainforest Tiger.

Devan cardi, from Knitty, knitted in Opal Sugar Almond Pink 4-ply sel-patterning sock yarn. The back of the cardi is knitted in a solid light pink.
Bigga Booga Bags
These Bigga Booga Bags are an adaptation of the Booga Bag from Black Sheep Bags. The Bigga Booga Bag is wide enough to hold an A4 folder.

When I returned to knitting I made quite a few items for other people. This Bigga Booga bag was the first thing I made for myself. The yarn is Debbie Bliss' Maya, in shade 15, with a contrasting top in purple. Sadly the Maya range has been discontinued, although I have squirreled away enough of the purple to make myself a jacket for next winter.

This Bigga Booga bag made for a friend's birthday. It is made from Noro Kureyon 147. Some of the colours in this variegated yarn were rather muddy, so these were used to knit the base. The little drawstring bag is designed to hold a wallet or mobile phone, and keys.
Crocheted Jacket

This is the start of a jacket for myself, made with Colinette Lasso in 'fresco', using a 5mm hook. The stitch used is Half Treble htr (UK) / Half Double Crochet hdc (US). I have made a paper pattern, using an existing jacket as a template. At the end of each row of crochet the crochet is laid upon the pattern and I then decide if any shaping in needed. I would never have had the confidence to try this without Debbie Stoller's book The Happy Hooker.
