The Apartment is situated in the small village of Baldrine which is around  four and a half miles from Douglas, the capital of the Island. It is in a quiet country area and provides a good base for either relaxing or invigorating walks.

Nearby, there is a small 12th century Parish Church, and the Village Store and Post Office are about half a mile away. From there you can walk via the Fisherman’s Path to Garwick Beach, which was once famous for smuggling.

The Apartment is two and a half miles from the larger village of Laxey,  and local Bus / Electric Tram stops are only 75 yards away.

You can travel by Manx Electric Railway to Douglas, Laxey and Ramsey - change trams at Laxey to go to the summit of Snaefell, which at just over 2000 feet is the highest point on the Island.

Nearby Laxey is also the home of The Lady Isabella,  which at  72 feet in diameter is  the world’s largest working waterwheel - you can climb the 95 steps to the top for breathtaking views. Also in Laxey is the Laxey Woollen Mills - where you can buy locally crafted rugs and other woollen goods.

The Isle of Man boasts 17 National Glens - each has its own particular character, and entry is free.

To explore the Island’s Heritage, follow The Story of Mann or The Great Heritage Highway - and the new award-winning House of Manannan museum in Peel is not to be missed.
