January 28 2006:
Geller is now applying his mystical talents to boxer Peter McDonagh, who fights Michael Gomez for the light-weight crown in Dublin on January 28th. He says: "...totally erase any bad thoughts from McDonagh’s mind and there will be no "ifs," it will all be "when's," so not "if he wins," "when he wins." I'm not a miracle worker but I can help and I believe in Peter and I think he can beat Gomez."
The Result:
McDonagh beat Michael Gomez.

On Oct 5th 2005
Geller appeared on Scottish TV before a football match against Belarus urging people to stare into his eys and and say "Win Scotland, win. Win Scotland win." The result: Belarus 1, Scotland 0.

On the James Whale Radio Show
in the UK, he predicted that David Coulthard would win the Formula 1 motor race in the UK on Sunday 15th July. He exhorted the listeners to shout "Win, David, win!" or words to that effect. Coulthard had a crash in the first lap at the first corner, and as a result of the damage had to retire on lap 3.

Big Brother
In July 2001 he tried to get people to stop Paul being evicted from the Big Brother house by placing their hands on the TV screen. Paul was evicted soon after.

Tim Henman
During Wimbledon 2001 he announced he was using his "powers" to back Tim Henman. Henman lost to Ivanisevic.

1997 Grand National
In 1997 he predicted that 'Go Ballistic' would win the Grand national. The race was abandoned.

On 14 December 1996 Geller tried to get the viewers on 'Noel Edmond's House Party' BBC television programme to support the English cricket team then touring Zimbabwe. The first match started the following day. He asked viewers to place their hands on an orange 'circle' and 'wish the England cricket team to win'. In 1996, Geller asked everyone to touch an orange spot on the TV screen in order to make England win the 1996 European Football Championship. Immediately after that, they got knocked out of the competition by Germany.

Reading Football Club
His efforts to assist Reading Football Club boomeranged when the team was relegated.

The Orange Dot
In a letter published in the Daily Star, on 16 September 1992, a Mrs P Standing was quoted as saying that after touching Uri Geller's magical orange spot things began to happen immediately. First, the cat knocked her favourite vase off the window sill; a pepper pot fell out of a cupboard and broke her ceramic hob. Then her iron broke.

England -v- Scotland
Appearing on GMTV on Friday 12 November 1999, Geller said he was going to use his 'powers' to help Scotland beat England, after he'd helped England win the last time they met. The result: England beat Scotland 2-0.

England -v- Argentina
Appearing on GMTV on Monday 29 June 1998, Geller predicted that England would beat Argentina 1-0 in their game to be played on Tuesday 30 June. The result: England lost in a penalty shoot-out, the full-time score standing at 2-2 and no goals being scored in extra time. David Beckham was sent off, reducing the England side to 10 men.

Exeter City Football Club
Geller became a co-chairman of this 3rd Division club in 2002, but at the end of the season they were relegated.

Poole Pottery
Geller was invited by Poole Pottery to design some plates for them; sadly, in 2003 they went broke.

Wimbledon 2003
Geller appeared on GMTV at 6.40am in England this week on Wed 2nd July urging us all to "will" Tim Henman to beat Grosjean at Wimbledon, suggesting we touch a spot on our screens; Henman lost .... again.

Frank Bruno
Over a period of 6 momths, Geller "treated" the former world heavyweight boxing champion Frank Bruno in a pyramid at Sonning. In September 2003, Bruno was taken against his will to a mental hospital.

While being interviewed by Stephen Nolan on BBC Radio Belfast, Geller said that the interviewer would not have the show for more than three months. Wrong; three months later, he's still there.

Euro 2004
On Thursday 24 June 2004 Geller appeared on the 'Richard & Judy Show' on Channel 4 and asked viewers to concentrate their energies on willing the England team to win ... they lost on penalties, having finished the match 2 - 2.

Spring 2004
This spring (2004) Uri Geller appeared on the show "High Chaparall" on the Swedish TV-Channel Kanal 5. Among other things he predicted that the Swedish soccer team AIK would win, or at least finish among the top teams this year, in the highest league. The results: with only a few games left to play, they are in the tenth place out of fourteen, only two points ahead of the teams that will be downgraded next season. They have not been in a worse position than this since the seventies.

In September 1970, on the eve of Rosh Hashanah, Daniel Bloch, editor of the now defunct Davar newspaper, hosted a radio show on which he asked astrologers for their New Year's predictions. Israeli psychic Uri Geller, who also dabbled in astrology at the time, wrinkled his brow and said: King Hussein will disappear from the stage but we won't be seeing the end of Egyptian president Gamal Abdel Nasser anytime soon. Within months, Nasser was dead of cardiac arrest. King Hussein ruled Jordan for another 30 years.

Elvis's home sold to Uri Geller Geller and a couple of investors (New York attorney Pete Gleason and Swedish jewelry designer Lisbeth Silvandersson) each have an equal share in the first house owned by Elvis Presley. It is a National Historical Registered Property, and before the auction was appraised at $261,700. Geller plans to open it to the public, but whether he will get planning permission is another matter.
