Isle of Man Heavy Horse Society
Founded in 1984
To expand the ownership and use of Heavy Horses in the Isle of Man.
To encourage any person who has an interest in Heavy Horses.
To provide practical assistance and encouragement to younger persons to Show and work with Heavy Horses.
Liaise with the show committees to improve and expand the Heavy Horse element in the shows.
Liaise with various Government Departments on matters of Health, Welfare, Transportation and promote the use of Heavy Horses.
To encourage the young handlers to compete both here on the Island and in other countries.
To assist members and non-members with Heavy Horse related matters.
Learning to drive a pair of heavy horses during our Fun Showing Day held in May each year.
