RULES FOR THE MIXED  TEAM KNOCK-OUT COMPETITION

1       1    Clubs may enter one or more teams of 9 players to play in a match with no more than 5

 of    any one sex. Team players must be members of the Club and have not played for any other  team in this competition.

2      2  The entry fee to be fixed by the Executive committee.

3       3  The competition will be played on a Knock-out basis, all matches prior to the semi final shall be played home and away, the joint scores to count, the first name on the fixture list will be the home team, visitors to have the first cast of the jack, The competition semi finals and the final will be played on  neutral greens which  will be selected by the Executive Committee.

 

4       4  All matches to be played in the evening on the dates shown which are fixed by the Association Competition Organiser, starting not later than 7.00pm when all players must be present. (Except by mutual agreement of the captains, and the referee). Captains will nominate their 9 players and include substitutes if required before the match commences at 7.00pm any nominated player not present at 7p.m. must be substituted. This player must be present at 7.00p.m.

5       5  All games to be 21 up off Scratch. Standard Jacks to be used in all matches, to select opponents a draw of players names will be made by the team captains and games will be played in the rotation of the draw, any match played on a neutral green the captains will toss for the first throw of the Jack and the teams will throw alternatively, the score cards to be marked with a "J" to denote the player who shall throw the Jack first.

6      6  No practice by either side will be permitted on the match green after 6.00 p.m. on the day of the match, any player offending shall forfeit his game.

7      7  In the event of weather or any other circumstances interfering with play the referee or captains will decide whether to play or not. All completed games to count, any game not completed is void and shall be replayed, substitutes will be allowed for the replayed games. In the event of a result not being produced the match MUST either start or continue on the next evening the green is available.

 

8      8  If no official referee is available, after consulting with the opposing captain, the Home team captain will decide any points of issue.

9      9  Any team playing  ineligible players those players will receive no score and their opponents will receive maximum score.

10    10  The result of the match will be decided by the number of chalks scored in total, (home and away matches to be treated as one), in the event of a draw on chalks then the team having won the most games during the match become the winner in the event of it still being a draw then each captain will nominate 1 player to play 3 ends and the player to win 2 ends shall be the winner.

11    11  Results sheets of matches to be signed by both captains and forwarded to the Competition Organiser by the Home team captain directly the match is finished.

12    12  In the event of any protest or disputes, written notice must be sent in duplicate to the Association Secretary within FOUR days of the incident, and a copy sent to the Club concerned. The matter to be discussed by the Executive Committee whose decision shall be final.

13  The competition shall be governed by the "Laws of the Game of Crown Green Bowls" which are in force for the time being, with the exception of Rule 9.10.and 10.1
