SUMMER SHOW

SUNDAY, JUNE 17th, 2007

Island Saddlery Supreme Champion at the EVNPA's Summer Show was Geraldine Watterson's handsome chestnut gelding, Hot Toddy. Having won 3 of the largest classes of the day, Todd was Judge Rhian Ackers choice for her Family Champion. All three judges deliberated long and hard, studying a Supreme line up that featured champions and reserves from the Working Hunter, Mountain & Moorland and Open sections before choosing Hot Toddy with Sosanna Cox and the Cox family's Welsh Section A pony, Cusop Biggles reserve.

Jo Standish and her connemara gelding, Village Paddy II had a particularly good day, winning two Working Hunter classes in fine style. A regular competitor at UK shows, Jo's experience really showed and the pair well deserved their tally of one champion and two reserve champion awards. Open Working Hunter Champions were Catharine Barham and her versatile bay mare, Farrants Marimba, who achieved one of the highest scores of the day. Catharine has been extremely successful with Tess, competing in a variety of disciplines including Hunter Trials, Dressage, Jump Cross and Working Hunter. Repeating their success at the Spring Show were Fiona Thompson and Nanny's Gift who now have a matching set of Open Champion rosettes and sashes, along with the trophy for the Irish Draft class – larger mantelpiece required!

Our next event is the Country Warehouse Versatility Show to be held on 5 August. Now in its third year this concept has proved to be very popular with trophies awarded to the competitors gaining the highest marks from their Working Hunter, Dressage and Handy Hacker classes. Versatility Rosettes this year are Champion sized from 1st to 6 th place in each of the five sections. In addition to the Versatility there is a full range of Working Hunter, Dressage, Showing, Family and Handy Hacker classes and a total of 8 Championships. SPRING SHOW

SUNDAY, MAY 13th, 2007

The EVNPA held their first event of the year last Sunday with a tremendous entry. Ponies UK panel judges Mrs B Patton and Mrs D Hesford finally judged the Supreme Championship just before 7 pm after a veritable judging marathon! Vicky Fleming who judged the Family and Open sections had entries of over 18 in some of her classes. Yasmin Ingham who was celebrating her birthday was a little late for her party but didn't mind as she was awarded the Supreme Championship with her outstanding Welsh Section A pony, Cedar Falls . Reserve was a delighted Shannon Bridson with her Welsh Section B pony, Milford Fantasy. The two ponies headed a strong line up which included Fiona Thompson's Nanny's Gift who has really come into her own this year and looked superb. Jessica Collister's Flying Phoenix was also a strong contender, along with Claire Bagshaw's powerful bay gelding, John Henry. Thanks to all our helpers and our generous sponsors who made the enabled the show to take place. Our next event is our Summer Show to be held on June 17th .
