It was a fantastic day with lots of new faces competing for the first time.Almost all of the classes were well supported. Pony judge, Zoë Murray had a particularly hard task as in many of the classes she had twenty or more to choose from! Our thanks as always go to judges, stewards and competitors who made the show the success that it was. Special thanks go to Mr Teare and family for the use of a lovely venue The committee was especially pleased to wake that morning to a warm sunny day, as we had set up the show field in the midst of a torrential downpour! We have been so lucky with the weather at all of our events this summer, so, in case the weather gods are reading this...we thank you too! Cabbyl Club Combined Training & Dressage
Photographs by Elaine Murray Bright and breezy weather greeted the competitors at the Cabbyl Clubs most recent event.Having had weeks of dry weather we were concerned that the going was going to be too hard to go ahead with this event. Thankfully the Gods were once again on our side and in the run up to the show we had just enough rain to make the going perfect! As always, we give our thanks to Mr Billy Teare and family for letting the club use their land.To the judges, writers and helpers we are grateful that they are willing to give the club some of their valuable free time, we could not put on these events without their generosity! Once again, fantastic weather helped make the Cabbyl Clubs latest event a huge success. It was nice to see some of our regular competitors joined by some new faces.There were also some partnerships having their first competitive outing. As we all know our equine friends come in all shapes and sizes and we had a wide range of horses/ponies competing at the Jump X.Tiny Spongebob Squarepants (10.hh) ably ridden by Helen Lobb was one half of a pairs combination who completed the 2ft course. At the other end of the scale there was Grace (18hh) ridden by Janthia Taylor. Grace, can turn her hoof to most things and is more often found in the dressage arena. Our thanks go to Mrs Ruth Dermott for the use of the venue, and all the helpers, especially Dr Farrant who gave the club their valuable time. The Clubs next event is the Ridden/W.H. show on Sunday May 11th. Two visiting judges. Miss C Pearsall will be judging the W.H. and Miss L Craven the ridden classes. The club have recently purchased new fillers for their W.H. jumps. The Cabbyl have a reputation for building interesting WH courses, with the new fillers plus dressing , this course will also live up to that reputation! Schedules for this show are now available.
