Port Erin Lifeboat is continuously looking for new members
The station has many positions for all kinds of abilities and experience from fundraising right through to manning the boat.

For Boat Crew...

Are you:-

 

Aged 17 - 45 Retirement age for Atlantic crews is currently 45. (Parental permission needed if under 18 years)
Physically Fit A medical is required every 5 years and is performed by the Station Hon. Medical Officer.
Eyesight You must have good eyesight, the use of spectacles is now permitted but you cannot be colour blind.
Experience No marine experience is necessary, but it is helpful.  Full training will be provided.
Location Without breaking road laws, etc. be able to attend the station within 4-5 minutes of being paged.
Availability All crew is on 24hour/365day call-out, but in reality, you do as much as you can.
Training Full training will be given mainly at station but there is a requirement to attend the RNLI College in Poole for more intense courses from time to time.  Mobile training units visit the coastal stations periodically for VHF radio, First Aid, etc.
Maintenance Boat and boathouse maintenance is required.  Usually 1 evening per week.  You are expected to attend as often as you can.
General Be able to think quickly, react quickly, work as part of a close team and be 110% committed to the job.
